2009 marks the twentieth anniversary of Youth Handbell Festivals. Imagine how many young ringers have been influenced by this wonderful festival. Although these feativals began as a venture by teachers in Edmonton Public Schools supported by ALGEHR, it has been hosted in other schools besides Edmonton Public ones, with as many as 6 different schools districts participating at various times. Youth Festivals are now being held in Calgary, Fort McMurray, and Elk Island.
